Divorce rumors between Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have intensified over the past days, and now the "Candidly Nicole" star allegedly ditched her wedding ring.
Celebrity Dirty Laundry reported that it would have been understandable if Nicole Richie was not wearing her wedding ring for once or twice.
"She might have forgotten it, or sent it to get shined and polished. There are excuses when a woman forgets her wedding ring for a few days," it said.
"But when this woman is a high-profile celebrity and knows she's being photographed, and THEN steps out in the spotlight NOT wearing her wedding ring for weeks and weeks and countless photo-ops? Then, she's sending us a message."
In Touch Weekly, meanwhile, claimed that Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are on the throes of divorce after "months of bitter arguments over things like their busy schedules and parenting their kids - daughter Harlow, 7, and son Sparrow, 5."
The source alleged, "Nicole recently met with one of LA's most prominent divorce attorneys and is weighing her options."
But Nicole Richie is still thinking about her kids with Joel Madden even if she's allegedly weighing the divorce option.
According to the insider, "The last thing she wants is a public split with the children involved, but she's desperately unhappy."
"It's better for everyone right now if they just stay apart because it's really not working anymore," the source added. "It's very obvious to friends that a divorce announcement will probably be happening soon.
Further fanning the divorce rumors was the report by Daily Mail that Nicole Richie and Joel Madden had a tense lunch on Tuesday in Los Angeles.
"For their Tuesday meeting Nicle sported a grey sweater and matching tights teamed with black high top trainers," it said. "While the Good Charlotte rocker opted for black denim, a matching shirt, and workman's boots teamed with a trucker hat and shades."
Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have been married for five years.
