Brad Bird Set To Direct 'The Incredibles 2?' Director Talks Plot Details!

The "Incredibles 2" will be helmed by Brad Bird. The filmmaker himself confirmed this news in a recent interview with Collider.

In the interview, Bird confirmed that there are already several pages of script that have been written. "Yeah, I have pages, a bunch of pages," the director said. "I have a lot of ideas for the original 'Incredibles' that I didn't get a chance to use."

"I have ideas that I wanted to pursue a little bit and there wasn't enough time in 'Incredibles," he added. "These are new ideas that I have, and I think there are enough of those togeteher to make an interesting movie."

When he was asked straight out whether he was saying that "The Incredibles 2" is his next big animated project, Bird confirmed it by saying, "Oh yeah."

Pixar announced last spring that "The Incredibles 2" was going to happen, but it is only now that Bird has revealed that he is attached to the sequel.

At the moment, the director is busy promoting his Disney movie "Tomorrowland," a science fiction adventure movie that stars George Clooney, Hugh Laurie, and Britt Robertson. After this movie, Collider asked Bird if he might be taking over the helm from Josh Trank is no longer directing the second movie in the new Star Wars anthology.

"Well [Kathleen Kennedy] and I have discussed the possibility of-I mean she's basically saying this is a very large sandbox and other people can play in it," Bird said. "I was particularly attracted to the idea of picking up and J.J. got very excited about the notion of shaping the next trilogy, and that idea was interesting to me too."

"But I kind of-I'm writing a sequel to 'The Incredibles' and I can't think too much farther beyond that," he continued. "I have other things I want to do as well."
