Blake Lively Talks About Opening A Fashion Brand; ‘Preserve’ Founder Says She Wants To Have Her Own Clothing Label
Blake Lively recently talked about opening a fashion brand. According to a report from Belfast Telegraph, the "Preserve" founder said she wants to have her own clothing label.
"To be honest, I could really see myself opening a clothing label and might even do it one day," the 28-year-old actress told Jolie magazine.
"But right now there is just no time for it. I really couldn't take any more sleep deprivation!"
Blake Lively said fashion was important to her family while she was growing up. However, the "Age of Adaline" star clarified that her parents were able to maintain a balance to it.
"I was lucky to grow up in a family that's obsessed with fashion but also very down to earth," the blond stunner shared.
"My parents were very keen for us kids to have a healthy sense of self-worth and to feel comfortable in our own skin."
"My mother also taught me that extremes are rarely good, for example in terms of figure or striving for perfection. It sounds like a cliché, but true beauty comes from within," she added.
Aside from Blake Lively's interest in fashion, the TV and movie star is also known for "Preserve." The wife of Ryan Reynolds launched the said lifestyle website last year, and a report from Us Weekly said that lifestyle veteran Martha Stewart has given the project her seal of approval.
"I think Blake has done a good job with her site. It's an interesting site - kind of an interesting product on it," Martha Stewart said about "Preserve."
The e-commerce site features food, clothing, home décor and novelty items curated by Blake Lively herself.
The 73-year-old lifestyle guru also encouraged other individuals who want to follow Blake Lively and launch something similar to "Preserve."
"If you have a good idea, and you feel really good about it, and you have the wherewithal and money to invest in a good idea, go for it! I mean, there's certainly room for the development of new brands," Martha Stewart said.
