Nina Dobrev And Ian Somerhalder Split: ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Star Says She’s Happy For Co-Star And Nikki Reed’s Wedding; Admits She Still Loves Ex-Boyfriend?

It has been three years since Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder's split and the "The Vampire Diaries" star has recently talked about the issue. "The Roommate" star also added that she is happy about her ex-boyfriend's marriage to Nikki Reed and that she loves him as a friend.

The Canadian-Bulgarian actress was interviewed by E! News where she talked about the issue on Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder's split as well as his wedding with the "Twilight" actress.

"I've said this before, that we didn't break up because anything bad happened or because there wasn't love or friendship," the actress said.

Nina Dobrev also added that she loves him even after their break-up.

"I love him and the friendship is still strong and I think he's great and I care about him. And that didn't change. Yes, we're professional and that's fine. We were friends long before we dated and we still are now."

Talking about Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed's wedding, the 26-year-old actress said that it was beautiful.

"When I heard about the wedding, I thought it was beautiful. They look happy and I am happy and so I don't see why there should be a problem with that," she said.

Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed tied the knot last April in Topanga, California.

Nina Dobrev even added that the media just gives hype on the issue because she and Ian Somerhalder are associated with a hit teen drama show, MTV said in a report.

"The drama is in the media, it's not with us. But of course, we're on a teen drama show, everyone's going to look for drama. If there's no drama, there's nothing to write about. I just ignore it."

After Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder's split in 2013, "The Roommate" actress has been linked to Orlando Bloom, Dominic Howard, and Liam Hemsworth.

Recent rumors also revealed that Nina Dobrev is dating Selena Gomez's ex-boyfriend DJ Zedd.
