Hope Lives For 'Forever' Series After ABC Cancellation? Ioan Gruffurd Starrer Being Shopped Around After Finale Cliffhanger

The cliffhanger at the end of the pilot season's finale of ABC's "Forever" seemed to be a smart move for the producers as the show is being shopped around after its cancellation with fans mounting an online petition for another network to pick up the series.

But showrunner Matt Miller still has no good news to share with fans hoping for updates on "Forever" season 2 renewal as he tweeted on May 25, "Nothing new to report at this moment. Show is actively being shopped by Warners. Stay tuned next week."

The petition to pick up the "Forever" series after it got cancelled by ABC was posted on Change.org.

It said, "Since Forever has been dropped by the ABC Television Network, and the show is owned by Warner Brothers, we are joining together to petition for the return of the show to another network or alternative venue."

"Unlike any other show, Forever is unique. Not only is it beyond endearing, well written and entertaining, it creates a sense of solidarity among it's fans. It brings together many people, of many faiths and backgrounds, uniting us all together in one common love," the petition added.

The petition has since gathered almost 60,000 supporters as of this posting.

Zap2it, meanwhile, ran an article on why "Forever" season 2 renewal should be picked up by other networks after the series got cancelled.

"Season 1 ended with Abe urging Henry (Ioan Gruffudd) to let Jo (Alana de la Garza) in on the secret of him living forever," it said.

"Plus she already knows something as she found an old fashioned photo of him and Abigail along with his pocket watch. If given a Season 2, it would be interesting to see just how he explains his condition, as well as how she handles the news."

Another question that begs a "Forever" season 2 renewal is for fans to know if Henry has other enemies, "after all, if Jo knows and can't take the pressure of being one of the few that do, she could confide in someone else thus jeopardizing Henry's livelihood."
