Taylor Swift and Harry Styles; One Direction Star Won't Be 'Tacky and Embarassing' Like Swift Mockery

Taylor Swift and Harry Styles have been engaging in a cold war recently. Swift has taken several public digs at the One Direction star recently. However, Harry Styles has been advised not to sink to Swift's "tacky and embarrassing" level.

"The lads have told Harry to forget about retaliating, because it's just not worth it," an insider to One Direction told RadarOnline. "They've all advised him to be the bigger person and not to wash his dirty laundry in public - it's just tacky and embarrassing."

"It's only Taylor now that seems to clinging on to their failed relationship, and Harry has been told to keep his thoughts private," the insider continued.

Taylor Swift has earned quite the reputation for making fun of her ex-boyfriends in public. Most recently, Swift, 23, dressed up as Harry Styles, 19, in her latest music video.

Swift dressed up in Style's signature look for the filming: a green beanie, and a cream-colored shirt. The lyrics to the song go: "It feels like a perfect night to dress up like hipsters / And make fun of our exes, ah ah, ah ah."

Swift was photographed mocking a photo she took with Styles when they first met. She and the UK boy-bander were reenacting the famous finale lift from "Dirty Dancing." However, on the set of the new music video, Swift and a friend seem to be teasing the sentimental moment she and Styles once shared.

Swift took a jab at ex-boyfriend, Styles, during her opening performance at the Grammy 2013 Award Show as well. The Grammy winner opened the 2013 show with her hit single, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." As part of the lyrics Swift speaks in the voice of her "boyfriend" during the bridge, however, this time she chose to do it in a British accent... maybe, possibly, referring to her recent break-up to UK boy-bander, Styles.

"So he calls me up and he's like 'Ah still louve you,'" Taylor Swift said during the performance in an exaggerated British accent. "And I'm like 'I'm sorry, I'm busy opening up the Grammys...and we are never getting back together!'"

Swift was subtle and indirect, however, fans on Twitter caught her possible slam at Harry Styles.

"So apparently subtlety isn't Taylor Swift's strong point. Or English accents for that matter..." one publication posted on Twitter.

"TAYLOR SWIFT JUST SAID "I STILL LOVE YOU" IN A BRITISH ACCENT REFERRING TO HARRY STYLES OMG," a fan posted.
