Chris Soules Shrugs Off Split From Whitney Bischoff By Focusing On Charity; 'Bachelor' Star Makes Hospital Rounds

"The Bachelor" star Chris Soules is moving on from his split with Whitney Bischoff as he participated in a charitable cause for the fifth annual Ladies Football Academy at the UI Children's Hospital on Saturday.

In an interview with KCRG-TV, Chris Soules gave credit to the children as he called them "heroes."

"It's cool to come here and hopefully brighten some of their days because they've been through a lot," said Soules. "It just makes me feel really blessed that we have our health, and hopefully I'm putting some smiles on their faces."

During the activity, Whitney Bischoff's ex Chris Soules talked with the patients, doctors and the staff of the University of Iowa Children's Hospital.

"He also spent time with University of Iowa football players CJ Beathard and Drew Ott as well as Coach Kirk Ferentz's wife, Mary, as they visited with patients," the report said.

In the press release of the academy, Chris Soules said, "It is a privilege and a thrill to be associated with University of Iowa Children's Hospital and the Ladies Football Academy.

"A lot of people work extremely hard to make this event the success it is every year. I look forward to being part of such a wonderful cause in our state," he added.

The Ladies Football Academy already raised $ 1million for a new facility for the Children's Hospital and pledged another $ 1million for pediatric research.

It seems "The Bachelor" star Chris Soules has found a way to make use of his celebrity status, as well as move on from his split with Whitney Bischoff.

The split report was confirmed by the rep for the couple who issued a statement that read, "Whitney Bischoff and Chris Soules have mutually and amicably decided to end their engagement. They part with nothing but respect and admiration for one another and will continue to be supportive friends. They wish to thank everyone who has supported them through this journey."

Chris Soules also took to Twitter thanking everybody for their understanding in the aftermath of his split from Whitney Bischoff. He wrote, "I can't thank you all enough for the kind messages over the past few days. This has been really tough and your support means a lot to me."
