Katy Perry’s Camp Downplays Feud Song About Taylor Swift; John Mayer’s Girlfriend Not Involved In Writing ‘1984’

Katy Perry's camp has denied that she's penning a song called "1984" supposedly as a diss against Taylor Swift.

Apparently, Taylor Swift wrote "Bad Blood" supposedly as a shade against Katy Perry. The two have been rumored to be feuding for a long time, and now they have dragged along their respective boyfriends Calvin Harris and John Mayer into the fight.

"Given the similarity between '1984' and the title of a hit album from a separate pop star whose recent No. 1 hit is rumored to be about Perry (again, by the Internet)," said Billboard. "People exploded with rabid speculation that this alleged "1984" track was a response song of sorts."

The title of the track, "1984" bears similarity to Taylor Swift's "1989" song.

But a rep for Katy Perry said there's no "1984" song in relation to her feud with Taylor Swift.

"Katy Perry's managers at Direct Management Group confirm that this story is completely false. Katy Perry was not involved in writing, singing, recording or registering this song," her rep said.

BMI also confirmed that Katy Perry was not involved in the song "1984" because it was already registered by BMG Platinum back in September.

Earlier this month, it was reported that John Mayer convinced Katy Perry to skip the Billboard Music Awards knowing that Taylor Swift is going to win.

A source told Heat magazine, per Mirror, "John convinced her it was a bad idea. Katy realized she couldn't stand the idea of the cameras being on her face as she had to watch Taylor win every award with all her friends applauding her."

During the 2015 Grammy Awards, the feuding Katy Perry and Taylor Swift avoided each other with a lot of help from the organizers, said Hollywood Life.

"Word was that Taylor Swift was meant to show up, and Katy left before any of that could happen," the source told the website.

"Taylor didn't show because rumors were that she knew Katy was there, and Katy left thinking Taylor was going to show, so they definitely made an effort to avoid each other."
