Miranda Lambert Debunks Divorce Rumors As Talks About Making An Effort To Make Marriage With Blake Shelton Work; Singer Goes Head-To-Head With Carrie Underwood

Miranda Lambert downplayed the divorce rumors as she and Blake Shelton are making all effort to make their marriage work. The country singer, meanwhile, proved that she still got the chops as she went head-to-head with Carrie Underwood at the Country Music Television awards last June 10.

Lately, Miranda Lambert and "The Voice" judge Blake Shelton have been hounded by divorce rumors but they continue to prove their critics wrong as their marriage remains strong.

In April, for example, the National Enquirer, per Celebrity Dirty Laundry, claimed that split looms for Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert because of her excess pounds.

"Miranda has thrown in the towel on dieting, and that has Blake feeling like she's just letting herself go. He wants her slim and fit - not pudgy and porking out!" the source claimed.

But in an interview with Success, Miranda Lambert addressed the divorce rumors with Blake Shelton.

"We make a conscious effort to spend time together. If you don't, you will lose sight of each other," Lambert says.

"My tip would be, don't say, I'll get to it in a week, because no one knows what tomorrow will bring. And we both have times when we say, 'Put the phone down. There's nothing on Twitter that is more important than us right now.' You have to make that effort."

Miranda Lambert also credited her Blake Shelton's calming influence on her.

"He's a very calm, even person. He takes things as they come, and I'm sort of all over the place," she said.

Meanwhile, Miranda Lambert went head-to-head with fellow superstar Carrie Underwood but this time, she lost to the former "American Idol" alum for the best video of the year. But all is not lost for Blake Shelton's wife as she and Carrie Underwood won in the best collaborative video for their duet "Somethin' Bad."
