Cast Members Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder's Return To 'Beetlejuice 2' Spells Movie's Success? Filming All Set Later This Year

Cast members Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder signing on for "Bettlejuice 2" will reportedly guarantee the movie's success in the box-office as production will allegedly begin later this year.

Movie Pilot observed, "There is no word on whether or not Geena Davis, Alec Baldwin, or Catherine O'Hara will be reprising their roles from the original movie, but whatever the end result is, if Keaton and Ryder return it is sure to be a hit. Hope full this time Betelgeuse will get more than 15 minutes of screentime, after all he is why many of us will be watching."

In January this year, cast member Winona Ryder confirmed that "Bettlejuice 2" is in production during her HuffpostLive interview.

She explained, "I first heard about it a few years ago when I was in Toronto doing press for The Iceman. The guy interviewing me was like... 'Beetlejuice 2!' and I was like 'What?'"

"As far as I know, it's going to happen," she added.

Michael Keaton also said that he's very interested to become a cast member again as he reprises his Betelgeuse role in "Bettlejuice 2" during the Golden Globe Awards.

"As I've said for years, I don't know why no one ever thought of making (a sequel) about two years after we finished the first one," he said.

"It's great. You know, it's a question of Tim and me being around and available," he added.

Seth Grahame-Smith confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Tim Burton, Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder have all signed on to be cast members for "Bettlejuice 2."

Right now, however, there's no plot yet for the sequel and the writers are still tweaking the script.

"I think we landed on the right idea, landed on the right approach. It's just now making sure that-for me-I don't want to shit my pants in front of the entire world making a sequel to one of my favorite movies," he said.
