'Castle' Season 8 Spoilers: Premiere Episode 'XY' To Reveal Kate And Rick's Baby? Cast Member Stana Katic Tweets About Series

Will Kate and Rick's baby make an appearance in the premiere episode of "Castle" season 8? Spoilers are scant on details about this amid wild speculations following the blind item by TVLine which claimed that a couple in a major series will split.

Michael Ausiello wrote for TVLine, "I can confirm that it will be a two-parter, the first of which will be titled "XY" and penned by co-showrunners Terence Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley."

Ausiello then went on to add that the breakup in a hit series would be one of the most polarizing events of the 2015-2016 season.

"I've learned that a hit series will throw caution to the wind and put a (possibly permanent!) pin in one of TV's most popular love stories - a game-changing move that threatens to seismically alter the DNA of the series," he wrote.

"It will also piss off a lot of people, a backlash The Powers That Be are said to be fully prepared for and not necessarily all that fearful of; the aging series could benefit from having its core rocked, many believe," the writer added.

Fans took this to mean that Kate and Rick will break up, especially in light of showrunner Alexi Hawley's interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Alexi Hawley teased spoilers for "Castle" season 8 as he said, "We just want to get in there and try to tell some really dynamic stories. Going into season 8, it feels like it's time to shake things up a little bit."

According to Cartermatt, the premiere episode for the eight season will be co-written by showrunners Terence Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley.

"This is going to be the first of a two-part episode, and it is a pretty important hour of TV for them, given that the pressure is going to be for them to really deliver on something pretty outstanding straight out of the gate," it said.
