Kelly Rowland Confirmed For 'Empire' Season 2? Set To Portray Lucious Lyon's Chick?

Kelly Rowland may be the latest star to possibly join the "Empire" season 2 cast.

As reported by E! Online, the singer will reportedly join the Fox show and will take on the role of one very important woman in the life of Luscious Lyon, portrayed by Terence Howard.

Rowland though won't be another woman getting in between Luscious Lyon and Cookie Lyon, portrayed by Taraji P. Henson. An E! Online's source said she'll have a more important role -- portraying Luscious' mother in a flashback scene.

The "Empire" accounts on Twitter though have yet to acknowledge the rumors that Rowland will be included in the "Empire" TV show. Just last week, they welcomed Oscar-winning actress Marisa Tomei into the "Empire" Family. Tomei will reportedly be portraying a billionaire venture capitalist who loves women.

Last June 3 though, the Empire writers said thanks to Rowland for meeting with them.

"Hey, @KELLYROWLAND! Thank you for spending some time with the #Empire writers!" their post said then.

The picture and meeting sent fans in frenzy wondering if the singer will star in "Empire" season 2 but their questions were left unanswered.

Stars for the hit TV show have promised earlier that the new "Empire" season will be quite a ride for its followers.

"Season one -- it's that times 20 million," actor Jussie Smollett shared to E! about the next "Empire" season during the Black Entertainment Awards last week.

"I keep joking that we'll make season one look like 'The Brady Bunch' because it's a lot," he added. "It's going there, for sure."

"This second season, we're going to find out what turned Lucious into who he is, and he's going to clean up some messes that were left in the last episode," Terence Howard told Entertainment Tonight during the 2015 BETs  as well.

Howard won best actor for "Empire" in the 2015 BETs.

"Empire" season 2 will air its first episode on Sept. 23.
