Gal Gadot Is A Real Wonder Woman! 'Batman V Superman' Actress Talks About Her Days In The Military

"Batman V Superman" actress Gal Gadot might not look athletic, her lithe frame was in fact cited as the reason why she's the wrong cast for Wonder Woman, but she actually served in the Israeli Defense Force for two years.

In an interview with Fashion magazine, as shared by Daily Mail, she said, "But the army wasn't that difficult for me. The military gave me good training for Hollywood."

Service in the Israeli Defense Force, however, is mandatory for citizens over 18 years old in Israel.

Gal Gadot's casting as Wonder Woman for "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" received a lot of flak from netizens who thought that she's too frail to play the Amazon princess.

In the same interview, Gal Gadot also talked about playing Wonder Woman and how the character has become the "ultimate symbol of strength."

"Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd grow up to be in a movie playing someone who influenced as many women as she has," she said.

In an interview with Robot Underdog, Gal Gadot said that she makes sure to be physically fit even if she doesn't seem the prototypical strong Amazon woman.

"I just keep active-everything that's challenging me, everything that I feel like doing. It's not like I'm only TRX or Pilates. I do sports. I do cardio, but I don't like it as much. I'd rather do weights," she said.

"I try to eat healthy, but sometimes though, I eat cheeseburgers. That's good for the soul. I make sure to balance everything out. I drink tons of water."

But Gal Gadot is Wonder Woman in real life as she continues to juggle a rising career and raising a three-year-old daughter with Israeli businessman Yaron Varsano.

She explained, "Nowadays being a woman is hard, because we have to be the best wife, best mother, best worker, best everything! But I truly believe we are more empowered... we're also stronger, sophisticated and can achieve what we want. That's what I would like my daughter to know.'
