Ordeal Not Over! Johnny Depp's Wife Amber Heard To Appear In Court Over Dogs; Subpoena Issued For 'Magic Mike XXL' Actress

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard might have smuggled their two dogs out of Australia but their legal woes are not over as a subpoena was issued for the "Magic Mike XXL" actress.

"Amber Heard, the 29-year-old wife of Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp, has been issued with a Commonwealth summons to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on the Gold Coast, on September 7," said New Zealand's Stuff magazine.

"She faces three charges under the Australian Quarantine Act, including two counts of illegal importation of an animal, one for each pampered pooch, and one count of producing a false document," it added.

Previously, Johnny Depp's wife Amber Heard reportedly said that they won't be coming back down under when their two dogs were threatened to be put down after they ignored quarantine laws.

The "Pirates of the Caribbean" star and his actress wife also face 10 years in jail or pay a fine of $265,000 if they will proven to be guilty of importing the two dogs.

Amber Heard said, "I have a feeling we're going to avoid the land Down Under from now on, just as much as we can, thanks to certain politicians there ... I guess everyone tries to go for their 15 minutes, including some government officials."

Although it was Johnny Depp who was filming "Pirates of the Caribbean" at the Gold Coast, it was his wife Amber Heard who was served with a subpoena to appear in court for the controversy brought about by their dogs.

A statement published on BBC said, "Ms Amber Heard was served with a summons issued by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions on July 14.

"The CDPP's action follows an incident where a biosecurity officer attended a Gold Coast property in April and found two dogs alleged to be illegally imported," it added. "All animals entering Australia must have an import permit, and have undergone relevant testing and health checks signed off by a government veterinarian from the exporting country to ensure pests and diseases from overseas are not brought here."
