Boy Admits Ashton Kutcher 'Swatting' Prank, Also Target Justin Bieber

A 12-year-old boy in Southern California admitted to making prank 911 call last year that drew police to the home of actor Ashton Kutcher in court on Monday.

The boy, whose identity is withheld because of his age, was charged by the Los Angeles county district attorney's office in February with four felony charges of making false bomb threats and computer intrusion. He will be sentenced at a later date.

Such prank 911 calls known as "swatting" prompted emergency responders rushed to Kutcher's home on October 3, 2012.

"The comments of the call advised that there were individuals inside the location with guns and explosives, and that several people had been shot," a police statement said.

Prosecutor say the boy also targeted Justin Bieber's Calabasas, California, home and a bank of making false calls. Although these charges will likely be dismissed, however when the boy is sentenced the allegations will be considered.

All of the prank calls were placed October, as the police eventually traced them back to the young boy after police had been dispatched to the false crime scenes.

His sentence is at the discretion of the court, which could either be at-home probation or placement in a group home among other punishments, said district attorney spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons.

The boy was released to the custody of his parents and case transferred to his home county.
