3 Inmates Escape Missouri Jail, Considered Armed, Extremely Dangerous And At Large; 2 Suspected Murderers Among Escapees

3 inmates escaped from a southeast Missouri county jail on Monday night. Police searched for the 3 inmates who had made their escape on Tuesday morning.

Two of the three inmates that escaped are murder suspects, according to the Associated Press.

The inmates made their escape around 11:30 p.m. at the Butler County Jail in Poplar Bluff. Matthew Brandon Cook, Kade Reaves Stringfellow and Rodney Joe Green reportedly escaped through the ceiling.

Jail employees discovered the inmates were missing shortly after they escaped, said Frank Casteel, the 911-director for Butler County.

Casteel said that the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Butler County authorities and police from neighboring towns were all assisting in the search.

The three escaped inmates are considered armed and extremely dangerous.

"With the severity of their crimes they were being held for, we do believe it's possible that they may have the capability to get their hands on weapons," Casteel announced.

Reportedly, airplanes have been brought in to aid the search.

All three inmates had been jailed awaiting trials.

Cook, 29, was charged with first-degree murder, robbery and other crimes in the Feb. 19 killing of Sean Crow in a McDonald's parking lot.

Stringfellow, 23, was charged with second-degree murder in the July death of his infant son, Karson Stringfellow, according to the AP. Stringfellow had claimed he slipped and fell while holding the infant, who was badly beaten up.

Later at the hospital, doctors determined the child had bleeding in the brain and both eyes, multiple fractured ribs, and other abuse-related injuries.

Green, 40, is facing multiple charges for allegedly breaking into a rural home in February, threatening the husband and wife with a gun, and shooting them after a stuggle before getting away in their truck. The man was hit in the thigh and his wife in the hand, but both survived.

The three inmates remain at large.
