Oregon Motel Surrounded As Police Search For The Grandma Killer

Police surrounded an Oregon motel on Tuesday asking the man inside to surrender after he killed his grandparents.

Michael "Chadd" Boysen, did not have the best homecoming last Friday after he was released from prison. His grandparents threw him a welcome home party and instead of hugs and kisses, he reportedly murdered them in cold blood.

Boysen, 26, is suspected of killing his grandparents in Renton, Washington, and then stealing their car to flee the scene. Their bodies were found on Saturday, a day after he was released from prison. The man had been serving time for a burglary conviction.

Police in Oregon surrounded a motel on Tuesday after receiving a tip that Boysen was inside. "We have information that Boysen may be in a motel room in Lincoln City, Oregon," said Cindi West, a spokeswoman for the King County Sheriff in Washington state.

A SWAT team was sent out and surrounded the Oregon motel.

Lincoln City Police Chief Keith Kilian reported that they received word that a person had checked in to the WestShore Oceanfront Motel using Boysen's name. The front desk clerk at the Oregon motel said he recognized him from pictures shown on the news, so he notified the authorities.

Oregon State Police said in a statement that when they surrounded the motel, they made sure all of the rooms had been evacuated as to not endanger any civilians. The surrounding city streets were also blocked off. Local residents were contacted by phone and told to stay in their house until the situation is resolved, police said.

According to Kilian, police are negotiating with a suspect inside the Oregon motel they believe to be Boysen. "He's not wanting to come out. In fact, he'd like us to go away."

Police said the grandparents had given Boysen a room in their home. They picked him up from prison on Friday, helped him get a Washington state identification card and hosted a family party later that evening, police said.

Boysen's mother found the bodies of her parents on Saturday, according to police.
