Reggie Bush Signs With The Detroit Lions: Ownership Revamps NFL Team For A Possible 2013 Playoff Push

Reggie Bush signed a four-year contract with the Detroit Lions Wednesday, according to the Associate Press. Adding the star player to the team's roster should help the Lions make a playoff push next season.

ESPN reported that Bush will be introduced at a news conference with the team on Wednesday.

Detroit Lions team ownership also signed former Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman Jason Jones.

The team resigned cornerback Chris Houston.

Houston had two interceptions, two forced fumbles and 56 tackles last season for Detroit, his third season with the Lions. He had a career-best five interceptions in 2011.

According to NFL.com, Reggie Bush rushed for 2,072 yards and 12 touchdowns in his past two seasons with the Miami Dolphins.

Bush looks to bring balance to the pass-happy offense of the Lions.

Detroit's defense ranked 20th overall and 20th in sacks, with 34 sacks during the 2012 season. The team is trying to fill the void of recently released player Kyle Vanden Bosch and the possible free agent loss of Cliff Avril.

The Lions still have to compete for the NFC North with Aaron Rogers and the Green Bay Packers, as well as one of last year's wildcard teams, MVP Adrian Peterson and the Minnesota Vikings.
