Jeff Gordon Prank Was Staged – Commercial Deceit! [VIDEO]

Sometimes viral videos are not what they seem.

Jeff Gordon played a prank on a used car salesman for Pepsi MAX and the video has gone viral, but it is all just a publicity stunt.

Disguised with a goatee, famed NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon goes to a car dealership to test drive a used Camaro. He takes the salesman on an epic test drive and then Pepsi posted the hidden camera video on YouTube.

The joke has already been viewed more than 2 million times.

What many people don't realize is that the Jeff Gordon prank video is a commercial.

In our modern technology age, Pepsi and Chevrolet are in cahoots to boost sales and are using online media to advertise.

The video shows the salesman screaming, seemingly fearing for his life as Jeff Gordon performs fancy driving stunts.

But the jury is in, and the video is a fake. There is no way this situation could have happened without the consent of the passenger. Just considering the liability laws alone, it would be impossible to pull off.

It seems highly unlikely that any company would orchestrate a prank like this, putting the passenger in danger of not only a potentially fatal accident, but also a heart attack. Just image the headache the Pepsi lawyers would have had if the company actually tried to pull this off for real.

What is more, the owner of the Concord dealership where the video was filmed, Wayne Troutman, was interviewed by local news WSOC TV and actually said the Jeff Gordon prank was staged.

Many media outlets, however, are reporting the Jeff Gordon prank video as news. What we really have on our hand here is a highly successful publicity stunt.

The video was uploaded to Pepsi's YouTube channel on Tuesday and is titled "Test Drive."
