The Big Bang Theory Celebrates 4 Years On CBS; Cast Says There Is More Hilarity To Come

The funny, entertaining and delightfully droll CBS comedy 'The Big Bang Theory' is celebrating 4-years of making fans laugh and giving them the illusion they actually know something about physics.

The cast of 'The Big Bang Theory' was at the annual, open to the public, question and answer panel PaleyFest held in Los Angeles. The cast took questions from fans and talked about the show's success, but kept quiet on show spoilers.

Simon Helberg who plays non-PhD holding engineer Howard Wolowitz, says 'The Big Bang Theory' owes a lot of it's success to syndication. The show is played in re-runs on TBS and Fox.

"You're kind of forced to watch it now. We're shoving it down peoples throats, and they're learning that they love it," joked Helberg.

When 'The Big Bang Theory' made its debut at PaleyFest in 2009 the show wasn't even listed among the top 40 in the United States. 4-years later it is the second most watched show with over 20-million viewers. The number 1 show, also from CBS, is NCIS.

Jim Parsons plays persnickety physicist Dr. Sheldon Cooper. "There's something impossible to fathom about viewers and numbers and things like that," Parsons said about the show's 20-million viewers.

"I can barely picture 20 people in one room. If you want to say 17 or 18 million, we'll you've lost me."

The cast also includes Kaley Cuoco as Penny the waitress/actress, Johnny Galecki as Dr. Lenard Hofstadter, Kunal Nayyar as the socially awkward Raj, Melissa Rauch as Howard's wife Bernadette and Mayim Bialik as Amy Farrah Fowler, Sheldon's sort-of girlfriend.

The cast was careful not to reveal any up coming spoilers, but Melissa Rauch did say that a letter from Howard's long lost father would be the focus of an episode this season.

Fans of the show love it for different reasons: the dialogue filled with witty banter and snarky sarcasm, Sheldon's phobia about practically everything, or the inspirational story of Howard that proves to geeky guys with an unhealthy attachment to their mothers everywhere that they too can find the right girl.

Fans posted on 'The Big Bang Theory' Facebook page, which has 25,042,855 likes, saying "I love that show," and calling it "the only show on TV worth watching."
