'Price Is Right' Lawsuit Overturned: LA Judge Strips Game Show Model Brandi Cochran Of $8.5 Million In Descrimination Lawsuit

A Los Angeles Superior Court Judge overturned the case that awarded a former "Price Is Right" model nearly $8.5 million for discrimination on Tuesday because of "bad jury instructions."

Brandi Cochran was stripped of the $8.5 million she won in November for allegedly being discriminated against by the producers of the game show, "Price is Right" while she was pregnant with twins.

FremantleMedia North America and The Price Is Right Productions was ordered to pay the model $775,000 in compensation and $7.7 million in punitive damages.

However, Los Angeles Supreme Court Judge Kevin Brazile ruled on Tuesday that the jury, "did not receive proper instructions before making its decision," Fox News reported.

"The instruction error cannot be considered harmless," read the judge's decision. "Of central importance to the case was the weight given to discriminatory intent and whether that intent need only be of a mere motivating factor or a substantial factor. Given this central dispute, the failure to give the proper instruction regarding substantial factor cannot be considered harmless, and a new trial must be granted."

Cochran alleged that she was made fun of for her weight gain and eating habits while pregnant on the "Price Is Right" set, which ultimately led to her termination.

"We're very pleased the judge recognized that if the jury had been properly instructed, they may well have ruled in favor of 'The Price is Right,'" defense lawyer Mark Haddad told reporters.

Fox News reports that if Cochran requests a retrial, it will be held on March 22.
