Brooke Burke-Charvet 'I Don't Want to Look Like a 25-Year-Old Anymore'; Dancing with the Stars Co-host, Fitness Advocate and Cancer Survivor Opens Up in Health Magazine April 2013 Issue

In an April interview for Health magazine this month, "Dancing With the Stars" co-host Brooke Burke Charvet revealed, "I don't want to look like a 25-year-old anymore. I want to be my best healthy self."

"I would like to slow down my aging process, but I don't want to look like a pumpkin, all swollen! I don't want to fill every flaw in my face. A few? [She laughed.] But you have to embrace Mother Nature a little. I'm a woman. I'm a wife. I'm a mother of four."

On her blog modernmom.com, Burke-Charvet advocates for healthy living, eating, and exercise. The actress released two fitness DVDs January called "Brooke Burke Body: Sexy Abs" and "Brooke Burke Body: 30-Day Slim Down."

Her life however has not always been glamorous.

On November 8 Burke-Charvet revealed that she had thyroid cancer in a YouTube video titled, "Cancer.Me?" after a doctor's visit confirmed the diagnosis.

The mother of four underwent a thyroidectomy in December and announced on her blog a few days later that she is cancer free.

Now Burke is on a preventative health crusade, advocating that women regularly check in with their doctor, maintain a good diet and exercise regimen.

"I try to share and spread that message because, I think, the healthier we are the healthier our life is," she said to Health magazine.

"Happy New Year....I am still basking in memories from an interesting, challenging yet still amazing 2012. It flew by, way too fast - maybe because I was so consumed with my cancer scare and going through all the necessary medical procedures," Burke blogged. "But, it's over, and I can happily say that I kicked Cancer's a*&! I am feeling fantastic! Aside from a little scar, I am good to go."

The new season of "Dancing With the Stars" that Burke-Charvet hosts with Tom Bergeron will return Monday, March 18, at 8/7 central on ABC.
