Tom Cruise, Cher Dated In The 80s! Duo Makes List Of Most Random Celebrity Couples, 'He Was Amazing' Singer Says [VIDEO]

Tom Cruise and Cher dated in the 1980s, earning themselves a place in a list of the most random celebrity couples in history, compiled by snakkle.com.

Other odd couples included Jimi Hendrix and Linda McCartney (1968), Michael Jackson and Tatum O'Neal (1978) and Ted Danson and Whoopi Goldberg (1993).

Back in 2008, Cher discussed her relationship with Cruise, who is 16 years her junior.

"It was a long, long time ago and neither one of us ever talked about it and I don't know why," Cher, who is now 66, told Entertainment Tonight. "When we were together he was such a private person. He always has been until lately. He didn't mention it and I didn't mention it. I loved him though, he was amazing."

Then 39, Cher briefly dated the 23-year-old Cruise after meeting him at a White House event in the mid-80s following the release of Tom's film "Risky Business."

Recent history notwithstanding it seems that Tom could have a thing for younger women.

In 1987, Cruise married Mimi Rogers, seven years his senior, according to Vibe Magazine.

Jonas Priest was not surprised by the news that Cruise, a Scientologist, and Cher dated.

"He's into aliens, what can you expect?" Priest commented on the Vibe website.
