Michael Jordan Paternity Case Dropped: Georgia Woman Alleging NBA Legend Was The Father Of Her 16-Year-Old Son, Drops Child Support Suit [VIDEO]

The case against Michael Jordan for paternity and child support has been dropped.

Paula Smith, the 48-year-old Atlanta woman that filed the suit claiming Jordan is the father of her 16-year-old son, dropped the charges on Monday, TMZ reports.

Smith filed legal documents in Georgia asking the judge to dismiss her case against the basketball star considered by many to be the greatest in the history of the game. Her request was granted without prejudice, meaning she can file a claim at a later time if she decides to.

Smith had asked the court to order a DNA test to prove the six-time NBA champion is the paternal father of her child. In the suit reportedly filed in February, she demanded that Michael Jordan pay child support and medical expenses not covered by insurance.

According to Smith, she and Jordan had an affair in 1995, while the five-time regular-season MVP was married.

Smith also wants the court to allow her son to change his last name to Jordan and have a new birth certificate issued. She requested that the court hearings be closed in order to protect her son's identity.

It is unclear if a settlement was reached outside of court.

"I have some exclusive, exclusive information and I feel like everybody should know," Taj Reynolds said in a video he posted on YouTube in December, identifying himself as Jordan's illegitimate son. "If you've been hearing any rumors about I'm Michael Jordan's son, its true. The reason I'm making this video is I feel like you all should know and I feel like he should be more in my life,"
