Lindsey Vonn Officially Dating Tiger Woods; Couple Finally Announces Relationship On Facebook After Rumors Swirl For Weeks [PHOTOS]

Lindsey Vonn is officially dating Tiger Woods. The couple confirmed their relationship on Facebook on Monday, March 18.

Rumors have claimed that Lindsey Vonn was dating pro-golfer Tiger Woods, but neither party had made an official announcement confirming their relationship.

Both Lindsey Vonn and Woods simultaneously posted similarly worded announcements of their relationship on their respective Facebook accounts on Monday morning.

6-time World Cup women's downhill skiing champ Lindsey Vonn wrote:

"I guess it wasn't a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods. Our relationship eveloed from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy. I don't plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between us, my family and close friends. Thank you for understanding and your continued support! Xo LV"

14-time PGA Tournament champion Tiger Woods wrote:

"This season has been great so far, and I'm happy with my wins at Torrey and Doral. Something nice that's happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn. Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating. We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes."

Woods even posted four photos of him and his girlfriend.

Rumors swirled about Lindsey Vonn and Tiger Woods being an item after the golfer sent his private plane to pick Vonn up after she injured her leg last month.

The announcement has elicited strong reactions from followers - some good and some bad. One of Lindsey's Facebook followers posted, "hes a cheater and hes 10 years older than her...what is she doing?! I respect and idol her for the amazing ski racer she is but she is a completely different person than when she first started out because of the fame she has achieved. I want Lindsey Kildow back"

Another Vonn fan simply wrote, "Hope You'll stay very well together!!"

Some of Woods' followers wrote, "She is too good for you. You better treat her right. If not.....You will have millions of Ski fans after you!!!!!" and "Congratulations to you and Lindsey, I wish you both the best. So happy for you Tiger, good things are coming your way!"

This weekend, Tiger Woods will play at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Vonn is still recovering from her ACL injury, but has announced that she plans to compete in the World Cup season in November.
