Pigeon Forge Fire Almost Out After Burning Down Over 50 Cabins In Tennessee Town: 200 Locals Forced To Evacuate [PHOTO]

The Pigeon Forge fire that burned nearly 60 cabins over 160 acres in the Tennessee resort town, and forced the evacuation of 200 local residents is nearly out, according to CNN.

Heavy rains reportedly helped put out the fire in the town famous for being the home of Dolly Parton's theme park Dollywood.

"We had about three downpours that allowed them to get the fire back under control," Dean Flener, a spokesman for the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency told the Clarion Ledger.

Flener said there were two people with minor injuries, but no one died.

Dollywood, although undamaged in this particular Pigeon Forge fire, faced a 10-acre brush fire on the property Saturday, according to WATE.

"Our Dollywood family wants to thank the firefighters who responded to our brush fire on Saturday night," read a statement on the Dollywood Facebook page posted Monday. "Their hard work quickly contained the fire preventing any damage. Our prayers go out to them as they battle a larger fire many of you may have heard about that is near Wears Valley. This fire is unrelated to Dollywood's weekend incident."

Dollywood theme park officials told the station that the park would still open this weekend as planned.

John Helt told the Knoxville News Sentinel claims he saw the located the source of the fire Sunday afternoon in a cabin near his home at the Black Bear Ridge Resort.

"I went running down there, and I noticed the fire started on the porch where there was a hot tub," Helt said. "I found out [the cabin] was empty."

He said he ran past his Pigeon Forge neighbors' home, many of which were already on fire, knocking on doors and warning people of the engulfing flames.

"I don't ever want to see nothing like that ever again," Helt said. "The flames were so hot I nearly passed out from the heat."
