Too Short DUI Arrest: Oakland Rapper Arrested For DUI, Suspicion Of Narcotics Possession In Los Angeles

Rapper Too Short has been arrested for a DUI and on suspicion of narcotics possession.

Police arrested Too Short for a DUI after the rapper reportedly attempted to run from police, according to TMZ.

Law enforcement officials said Too Short, or Todd Anthony Shaw, was pulled over in Los Angeles for a traffic violation. Too Short's car was pulled over near Hollywood Boulevard and Las Palmas Avenue.

When the police officers approached Too Short's vehicle, he appeared to be intoxicated, TMZ reported.

Police attempted to administer a Breathalyzer test, but 46-year-old Too Short allegedly tried to avoid the test and ran down the street. Police sources said the rapper tripped and fell as he ran from the officers.

Police placed Too Short under arrest and brought him back to the police station.

While on the way to the station, Too Short allegedly tried to place and hide narcotics in the back of the police cruiser.

Law enforcement official sources told TMZ that Too Short blew a .09 into the Breathalyzer, which is just over the .08 legal limit.

This isn't Too Short's first encounter with the police. He was arrested in 2009 for suspicion of DUI and marijuana possession in Los Angeles. In 2008, Too Short was arrested and charged with three counts of misdemeanor battery after a fight at an Idaho nightclub, according to Billboard.

Too Short's representative hasn't yet commented on the Oakland rapper's arrest.

Too Short released collaborative albums with E-40 last year, titled History: Mob Music and History: Function Music. He also released a solo album, No Trespassing, last year.
