Kate Upton Leaves Her Potential Prom Date Jake Davidson Speechless When She Calls In During His 'Today' Show Appearance [VIDEO]

Kate Upton left her 17-year-old potential prom date Jake Davidson speechless when she called into NBC's "Today" show on Wednesday morning, leaving co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb to make the introductions.

"This is Jake. Jake, Kate." Savannah Guthrie told Kate Upton as they announced to Davidson that the 2013 Sports Illustrated cover girl was on the line.

"Jake, Kate," Kotb echoed. "Jake's not speaking."

Upton sounded amused by the whole thing.

"How do you feel?" Kate asked. "I can't believe you're on the show now and everything."

Davidson who's video invitation for Kate Upton to attend his prom in Sherman Oaks, Calif. has already gotten over 200,000 views since being posted on Sunday, appeared to have trouble producing words.

"This just got so much better now that you're on the phone," he said.

Before Upton called in, Davidson had appeared confident when Guthrie and Kotb asked him what made him decide to ask Kate Upton to his May 23 prom.

"I got the idea a couple months ago," Davidson explained. "It was more of just a thought but then last week I was talking to family friend Talia Myers who made the video she's at USC and we talked and we were like 'let's do it.'"

He even appeared cocky about his chances of Upton saying yes.

"I'm very hopeful now. Now that she tweeted with a maybe, if she checks her schedule that would be fantastic."

Yet his confidence vanished the minute it was revealed Upton was on the line.

The supermodel thanked him for making the YouTube invitation.

"I absolutely loved the video," Upton said. "It was so hilarious and so creative. "

And as far as the final verdict on whether Jake Davidson gets to tell his grandkids he took Kate Upton to the prom?

"I definitely have to check my schedule, but you seem like so much fun, and if everything works out, I'd love to go with you," Upton said. "I know we'd have a blast."
