Prince Harry To Visit New Jersey’s Hurricane Sandy Victims In May, Tour US To Support Charities And Injured Military Personnel

Prince Harry of Wales will be visiting New Jersey to meet with Hurricane Sandy victims during his United States tour from May 9 to 15.

The announcement that Prince Harry will visit New Jersey's Hurricane Sandy victims was made through the prince's official royal website on the morning of March 25.

Prince Harry of Wales is also scheduled to visit Washington D.C., Denver, Colorado Springs, New York City and Connecticut on his coming visit to the U.S.

His visit will focus on promoting charities that he supports, including supporting injured members of the military from the U.K. and the U.S.

Harry's private secretary Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton said, "Prince Harry wants to highlight once again the extraordinary commitment and sacrifice of our injured servicemen and women."

The specific New Jersey towns hit by Hurricane Sandy that Prince Harry will visit are still unknown, but he is scheduled to visit Arlington National Cemetery, Walter Reed National Medical Center and an exhibition on Capitol Hill about land mine clearance.

Land mine clearance was a favorite topic of Harry's late mother, Princess Diana.

The 28-year-old prince last visited the United States in May 2012, where he met military veterans participating in the 2012 Warrior games.

Prince Harry will attend the 2013 Warrior games, a competition between British and American veteran athletes.

Harry's visit won't be entirely military and Hurricane Sandy-focused; he plans to include some recreational activities into his schedule.

The prince will play in the Sentebale Polo Cup in Greenwich, Connecticut, according to the Associated Press.

Sentebale is a charity that Harry co-founded that helps children struggling with poverty in the tiny African country of Lesotho.

It appears that on this visit to the U.S., Prince Harry will skip Las Vegas, where he made headlines on his last U.S. visit with his antics in his Las Vegas hotel room.

More details about Prince Harry's coming visit will be announced later.
