Plaxico Burress License Suspended By Florida DMV After Failing to Pay $125,000 Court Judgment

Plaxico Burress is reported to have his license suspended after he failed to settle a judgment against him from a 2008 car crash.

The Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver lost his driver's license after failing to fulfill the order, according to TMZ.

The Florida Department of Motor Vehicle stated his license was suspended Monday. The news comes amidst of renewing his one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers so it seems he will either need to get a ride from a teammate or take a taxi to practice.

The suspension follows a previous car crash in 2008, involving a woman named Alise Smith. She sued the NFL star claiming he was responsible for the crash that left her inured. He is to pay the medial bills for her neck and back injuries and was awarded $125,000 plus interest by a judge in January 2012.

According to TMZ, it seems Burress never paid the woman, which led Smith to have her lawyer write to the DMV in Florida requesting for an immediate suspension of his license.

Burress must now either pay the judgment or challenge the DMV's action to have his license back.
