Tiger Woods Arnold Palmer Thugs Commercial Is Totally Racist [VIDEO]

A commercial for the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 game shows two golf legends, Woods and Palmer going head to head against a ruthless bunch of Latino thugs out to steal their trophies.

The commercial, titled The Rumble, is filmed in a martial arts style reminiscent Tarantino flick.

It shows the two golfers walking through a dark airplane hanger when they are suddenly approached by a band of thugs. The thugs demand that Woods and Palmer hand over their tournament trophies (which are comically hid inside the golfers' sport coats.

The fighting then breaks out with Woods and Palmer destroying the group of thugs with kicks, punches, and a move they call the "Omaha spread."

Just as they are finished beating up the thugs, a bigger, badder looking guy appears and challenges them, also seeking the trophies. Palmer takes him on, but he is no match for the Mr. T look-alike. But no fear, in comes Lee Trevino, another golf legend, to save the day.

It is a little off-putting how many racial stereotypes run rampant in this video game commercial.

Why is the gang comprised of only Hispanic thugs? And the big guy at the end, why did he have to be black?

Just about the only thing that would make this commercial more racially insensitive would be if Tiger Woods and Arnold Palmer went up against a group of ninjas.

Why couldn't the thugs be multiracial? Why aren't they Russians or pirates or gypsies? They could have been extraterrestrials for all we care. But no, Woods chose to have this commercial with a group of young hispanic hoodlums and a big, dark scary-looking black man.

Hasn't Tiger experienced enough racism in his life that he would want to avoid continuing the vicious circle himself?

At any rate, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 will be released later this month for Xbox 360 and Playstation.
