Kathryn Kalikow Arrested: Daughter Of Former New York Post Owner Taken Into Custody For Selling Heroine

Kathryn Kalikow was arrested on Sunday after she and her boyfriend tried to sell heroine to an undercover police officer. The couple put an ad on Craigslist offering the sale of a "discreet and professional high quality diesel pain relief."

An undercover officer who then arrested Kathryn Kalikow and her boyfriend Brian Whalen answered the ad.

The undercover officer began to text with Kalikow and Whalen before meeting at a specific rendezvous point. The couple told the officer the heroine would cost $400, plus an extra $40 for delivery.

Once Kalikow, Whalen and the officer met up and exchanged the money for the drugs, he arrested Kathryn Kalikow and Brian Whalen. The couple was arraigned in a Bronx court and have pled not guilty.

At the arraignment, Whalen admitted to being a drug addict and said the entire thing was his idea.

"I need treatment. I am a heroin addict, and to afford the drugs I agreed to sell some of the drug on consignment from the person I buy from," he said according to Yahoo News.

27-year-old Kathryn Kalikow is the daughter of former New York Post owner Peter Kalikow. She was educated at Vassar College and lives in a 5th Avenue penthouse.

Peter Kalikow now owns a real estate firm. He owned the New York Post from 1988 to 1994. He released a statement about his daughter Monday.

"Mary [his wife] and I are very concerned, and all we are concentrating on now is helping our daughter," he said.
