Jenna Wolfe Expecting Baby Girl With NBC News’ Stephanie Gosk; Comes Out While Supreme Court Debates Gay Marriage

NBC "Today" news anchor Jenna Wolfe is expecting a baby girl.

Jenna Wolfe announced on Wednesday, March 27 that she is expecting a baby with NBC News correspondent Stephanie Gosk, acknowledging publicly for the first time that she is in a gay relationship.

Wolfe said, "This is big for me, I'm actually pregnant. I'm quite pregnant, actually."

The anchor for "Weekend Today" is 5 months pregnant; the baby is due on August 27. She said in the interview that she plans to keep a diary-style blog about her pregnancy experience.

"It's...about documenting my fears, funnies and follies that come with doing this for the first time. I've never changed a diaper... I don't really understand what a breast pump is," Wolfe wrote in her first entry.

39-year-old Wolfe and 40-year-old Gosk have been in their relationship for three years.

The couple, in a coming issue of People magazine, said that Wolfe was artificially inseminated by an anonymous donor in December. Gosk and Wolfe are planning to marry, but said that they want to focus on their baby first. The People magazine exclusive interview will hit newsstands on Friday.

Wolfe explains the decision to announce her relationship and pregnancy in the interview, "I don't want to bring my daughter into a world where I'm not comfortable telling everyone who I am and who her mother is."

Wolfe made her announcement the same week that the U.S. Supreme Court is determining the outcome of two cases, California's Proposition 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act, that debate the issue of same sex marriage.
