DJ Clue Arrested With Possession Of Pills And Suspended License: World Famous Disc Jockey Was Pulled Over For A Routine Traffic Violation

DJ Clue was arrested Wednesday with possession of pills.

The famous disc jockey was pulled over early Wednesday morning for a routine traffic violation, TMZ reported. Authorities learned that Clue was driving on a suspended license.

Police conducted a search and reportedly discovered three pills wrapped in tin foil, according to TMZ.

According to NBC, Clue, 38, was taken into custody and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and aggravated unlicensed operator. 


DJ Clue, real name, Ernesto Shaw, made a name for himself in hip-hop when he broke into the mixtape scene in the 1990s. In 1994, a mixtape featured Notorious B.I.G., which helped to catapult the career of Clue.

Other features on Clue mixtapes were Jay-Z, Ja Rule, DMX and many more.

DJ Clue, is a Mixtape DJ known for his involvement in the Mixtape circuit and for being one of the first DJ's to not mix songs in his mixtapes. Clue is also known for dubbing both the song information and his name over each track on his mixtapes, usually in a distinctively echoed voice. He also has his own record label Desert Storm Records. Rappers Fabolous, Ransom and Paul Cain are among the artists with Desert Storm Records, according to his bio on Power 105.1's website.

In 1997, Clue signed with Def Jam Records.

Today, Clue is a radio host on Power 105.1 in New York, weekdays from 6-10 p.m. matching up against fellow world famous disc jockey, Funkmaster Flex of Hot 97.1. He broadcast what's hot in the hip-hop music world, old tunes and interviews with current and legends of the rap game.
