Daddy Yankee Rumors: PR Representative For Reggaeton Rapper Denies Gay Rumors, Claims They Are Result Of “Falsely Written” Online Blogs

Reggaeton star Daddy Yankee's representative denied rumors that the rapper was gay after a number of online media sources quoted the singer stating he was gay during a press conference.

Adding to the already-prevalent rumors that Daddy Yankee was gay, a photo allegedly of the singer kissing a man surfaced on the Internet. However, Daddy Yankee's representative claims the rumored quotes were "falsely written."

The publicist, Mayna Nevarez, told Billboard, "Online blogs and social media are once again to blame for the spread of false news reports, which other media outlets have also shared regarding the public figure. The reports circulating regarding Daddy Yankee's declaration of homosexuality was falsely written by an online outlet known for fabricating false information and spreading it through social media sites."

The quote 'confirming' Daddy Yankee's homosexuality stated, "I am a human being like any other, with virtues and defects, and I don't believe that this is a defect."

The rumors started circulating on April 3, when a number of Spanish-language websites posted stories with a photo of a man who looked like the rapper kissing another man. However, fans remained skeptical, and pointed out the physical differences between Daddy Yankee and the man in the picture.

In addition to Daddy Yankee's representative speaking out against the rumors, Daddy Yankee himself posted an Albert Einstein quote in Spanish on his twitter account saying, "I fear the day when technology overlaps humanity. It will be then that the world will have permanent ensuing generations of idiots."

The 36-year-old was born Ramon Ayala in Puerto Rico and created the hit song "Gasolina".
