Bill O'Reilly, Laura Ingraham: Debate of 'Thump the Bible' Over Gay Marriage Debate [VIDEO]

Fox news Bill O'Reilly and conservative radio host Laura Ingraham wen back forth again as he defended his comments made last week on his talk show Tuesday night.

The controversy began last week as O'Reilly stated that gay marriage opponents had to more than "thumping the Bible."

"Zealots picked up on my statement that opponents must do more than thump the Bible if they want to win the civil debate. That's absolutely true," O'Reilly said.

"I don't think you really needed to say that," Ingraham responded.

"Because that's the way you get it across," O'Reilly replied. "There are Bible thumpers, and all they do is say, 'I object to gay marriage because God objects to it.' You don't win a policy debate in America with that."

However Ingraham was merely saying that she use the world "thump" was disrespectful to religious viewers.

"A lot of them do have a very deeply held religious belief about what traditional marriage is."

O'Reilly interrupted, "It's not disrespectful. In their private life, they can! We're talking a policy deal here. Don't you understand the beliefs between private beliefs and public policy? ... I guess you don't understand 'cause you've done it twice."
