Homeless Man Wins The Lotto, But Says He's Not Leaving From His Tent-Home: $50,000 Doesn't Change This Illinois Winner Too Much: Meet The Homeless Man Here [VIDEO]

A homeless man won the lotto this week and said he's not going anywhere.

He won a $50,000 from a scratch-off lotto ticket.

The man who lives inside a tent in Bloomington, Ill., said he's staying, but upgrading his home to a newer tent.

"I've always said God's got a plan for me. I just didn't know. Now the door's starting to open. I'm paying it forward. And all the guys camped out back there. I'm gonna each give them $100," Dennis Mahurin, lottery win told Yahoo!

The homeless man who won the lottery, $50,000 from a scratch-off lottery ticket, is Dennis Mahurin from Bloomington in Illinois. Dennis, also known as "D" or "Double D," is pushing 60 and has been homeless for nearly 35 years.

His other plans consist of getting his teeth fixed, buying a new tent as his home, saving some of the money and visiting his soon, Yahoo! reported.

Mahurin lives in a tent near a creek in Bloomington and after having purchased a lottery ticket, he scratched it off inside his tent. He had a feeling that he won some money, but wasn't quite sure how much, so he decided to go to the gas station where he purchased the ticket.

"Dennis hands her over the ticket. He spent his last dollar on that ticket. And he said to the girl, 'Did I win anything?' Greg Davis, pastor of United Pentecostal Church in DeKalb said who was standing right behind the homeless man when he was told he won the lotto. "He had a very gruff voice. She looked at it, her eyes got wide. Really wide. As big as saucers."

"'Yes, sir,' she said. 'You just won $50,000.' I thought the man was going to have a heart attack. 'Wow,' he kept saying. 'Wow' and 'Are you sure? You're not kidding me, are you?' 'Yes,' she said. '$50,000.'"

Mahurin called the local newspaper to notify them that this homeless man won the lotto.

"I don't know how many times in life you get a chance to see something like this. To see a man who needs to smile, and that smile comes to him. A big smile. So I just had to call you."

The homeless man is happy with the winnings, but happy at where he's at and has no plans on moving from his habitat.

"I'm living in a tent, happy as can be in my nature."
