Prince William Dissed: Four-Year-Old Glasgow Girl Snubs Kiss From Duke Of Cambridge, Wanted Kate Instead

Prince William dissed by a girl. It’s an odd statement but yes, the Duke of Cambridge, and the second-in-line to the throne of England was shunned by an adorable four-year-old too shy to get a kiss from His Royal Highness.

The Prince reached out to give a friendly kiss to a toddler in a visit at Glasgow, Scotland. However, the little girl hesitated in fear, burying herself in her mother’s neck, The Daily Mail reported.

Shone Ritchie, a four-year-old Glaswegian local dressed as a princess, further rebuffed the royal advances when William took a liking at the pretty flower she was holding. Shona was concerned that the prince might take it away and kept it out of his grasp, because she wanted to make sure she’s able to give it to Kate.

“Ohh is that for me?” William asked hopefully, gazing at the red flower, to which Shona thrust the flower in Kate’s direction. “No, you want to give it to Kate. Quite right.”

The prince hopes he might get a kiss instead, at which point Shona shunned his moves, “Oh, next time, Shona, next time,” he said smiling, while the onlookers laughed out the cute scenario.

Shona and her family were standing outside the Emirates Arena. Her mother, Karen Ritchie, 34, said that Shona waited all morning to ask William for a kiss but was too shy when the prince leaned over to give her one.

Her mom said, “'As he leaned in to kiss her on the forehead she pulled away and got really shy. This is the quietest she's been all day.”

The Duchess was given Shona’s red flower and she also stopped by to speak to the family and meet the toddler. She was seen beaming when the Duchess was in front of her.

According to Mrs. Ritchie the Duchess “said Shona looked very pretty and asked her if she had picked the flower from her garden, but Shona told her she got it from my vase in the house and she thought that was very funny.'

Further along the welcome line, a baby girl mistook a bouquet of flowers for something edible when she tried to eat it when it was presented to the Duchess.

The youngster who was only a few months old, made a move toward the flowers during the royals’ visit to Glasgow. Kate jokingly offered if the girl wanted to keep the flower, but told her “It’s probably not so tasty.”

The royal couple’s visit to Scotland marks the beginning of their two-day Scottish tour, which they started by touring one of the venues for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
