Carrie Ann Inaba In Tears After Andy Dick Performs Highly Emotional Tribute To Daughter In DWTS, “It Was So Beautiful, Like The Simplest Poem”

Carrie Ann Inaba was in tears and could hardly talk after watching Andy Dick’s performance at Dancing With The Stars Monday night.

Dick and partner, Sharna Burgess found themselves at the bottom two last week but vowed to improve.

Proving a comeback, the troubled comic brought emotions to the surface of both the audience and judges on Monday night’s Dancing with the Stars. He dedicated his performance, a Viennese waltz, to his 15-year-old daughter.

“This has been the best year, because of sobriety,” Dick said, “My daughter Meg is the apple of my eyes. We have a super special relationship. She’s like a mini version of me.”

He continued, very emotional, saying, “My troubles become their troubles. I’ve put them through hell.” Andy Dick has battled substance abuse and was arrested several times.

“She used to dance for me,” sharing the words while in tears, “At 47 I’m going to dance for her.”

Andy was the highlight of Monday night’s show, which saw the hopefuls doing routines based on the best years of their lives. Their dances’ reflected those experiences.

Each star also had a solo spot during their performance- it has been daunting for some.

Andy and Sharna danced to the Leonard Cohen song, Hallelujah – he and his daughter’s favorite song. The comic looked very poised and confident as he danced with his partner before his solo spot saw him twirl across the floor. After his performance, he ran to Meg and embraced her at the end.

Bruno, one of the judges said of the dance, "Simple, effective and straight from the heart. It had a wonderful, fragile quality."

Carrie Ann Inaba in tears struggled to give her comment, overcame with emotion and extremely moved by the performance.

“Come here,” she told Andy and gave him a hug. “It was so beautiful, like the simplest poem. What you said with those few moments was so beautiful.”

The judges gave Andy Dick and partner a total of 21 points out of 30 – it’s the best score in the season for the comic, thus far.
