$81,500 Returned: Norwegian Teens Returns Cash Back to Elderly Man

Two Norwegian teens returned $81,500 found in a bag on a train, running between Oslo and small town in southeastern Norway, that was left by an elderly passenger.

"When I opened the bag, the first thing I saw were these wads and wads of bills," one of the teens, named Bendik, was quoted by AFP as saying.

"My first thought was to call the police," he said.

The two boys found the owner's passport in the bag after further examination. The man in his seventies is slated to pick up the lost money on Thursday.

Police told media that there was no foul play or wrongdoing behind the large sum of cash. They also were not sure if they teenagers were rewarded for returning the $81,500.

It's not often however news of this good deed comes just few days after a dumpster driver in Tennessee found $3,800 in a dumpster and turned it in.

A Philadelphia woman in March found $30,000 in some clothes however returned it.

"I had to give it back," Carol Sutor, of Bristol, Penn., said at the time. "I believe in karma, whatever I do will come back to me, good or bad."

Also early March, a student at University of Delaware returned $1,800 that was mistakenly dispensed at the ATM on campus.

"After a couple days of just thinking about it, the right thing would be just to return the money. I mean, it was just eating at me at the time because it isn't mine and I didn't even know what to do with it," said student Devon Gluck.
