Actress Drew Barrymore: "I Grew A Red Goatee!"...Opens Up About Facial Hair, Hyperpigmentaion, And Bikinis Post Pregnancy

Drew Barrymore is not afraid of opening up about the little embarrassing details of her 2012 pregnancy, including growing a goatee, developing hyperpigmentation on her cheeks, and not wanting to wear a bikini.

America's sweetheart, 38, talks about the changes she experienced as a mother-to-be. "I got a wonderful little goatee, and it was red! I also got hyperpigmentation on my cheeks."

She used microdermabrasion do deal with the hyperpigmentation and admits she dealt with her newfound facial issues by covering it up with a little makeup.

"If I was going off to a desert island, concealer is the one thing I'd want to take. It's the only product that I couldn't make it without!" she shared with In Touch.

According to BabyCenter.com, Barrymore's hair growth in not uncommon. "During pregnancy, higher levels of estrogen prolong the growth phase, resulting in less shedding of hair and thicker tresses."

"Unfortunately, your facial and body hair may grow faster when you're pregnant, possibly because of an increase in hormones called androgens."

The "Charlie's Angels" star also talks about her post-baby body.  She claims she is not yet ready to get back into a bikini quite yet. "I'd rather kill myself than get into a bikini right now!... I take care of myself, but I'm never going to be the person who talks about diet and exercise. I would fail that conversation!" she says.

Drew gave birth to her first child, Olive, with art dealer Will Kopelman on September 28th, 2012. The pair first started dating in early 2011. Kopelman is an art consultant and the son of former Chanel CEO Arie Kopelman. The couple announced their engagement in January 2012, and married on June 2, 2012 in Montecito, California.

We're thrilled that the former child star, who has stayed famous for almost four decades, is still surprisingly down-to-earth and can give women with similar strange pregnancy issues a little relief knowing they aren't alone.
