Tami Erin Says She Used Self-Defense When She Allegedly Assaulted Her Male-Roommate, Who The Former Pippi Longstocking Said She Was Being Filmed By The Man [VIDEO]

After Tami Erin, the actress who played Pippi Longstocking, claimed it was self-defense for when she was arrested Thursday for allegedly assaulting her male-roommate.

According to TMZ, Erin, 38, claimed Sunday that she caught the man "filming me without my knowledge in my private environment and I was defending myself. How much has he been filming me without my knowledge? The truth will come out."

Erin was arrested Thursday after a neighbor heard her scream for help at her home in Walnut Creek, Calif. The neighbor made a citizen arrest, until police arrived and arrested Erin. She spent the night in Walnut Creek County jail.

Erin said that she's a "small girl" who is five-foot tall, while her roommate is six foot.

It was reported that she was not nude when the alleged assault took place, but she said she is not sure how long the male-roommate has been filming her.

Her career-highlight came when she played a nine-year-old with superhuman strength in 1988's "The Adventures of Pippi Longstocking."

At 11, Tami won the coveted part of Pippi out of more than 8,000 young actresses from around the world.

Tami Erin was released from jail Friday morning with the case being sent on to the District Attorney's office for review.
