Country Music Singer Garth Brooks Sued for $425,000 By Ex-Partner Lisa Sanderson, Claims Brooks Is "Paranoid, Angry, Deceitful And Vindictive"

Garth Brook's former assistant is suing the country superstar for hundreds of thousands of dollars, saying Brooks is a "paranoid, angry, deceitful and vindictive man who will turn against those closest to him on a dime."

Ex-partner, Lisa Sanderson is seeking $425,000 from her former boss in unpaid bonus and salary, plus punitive damages. Sanderson worked for Brooks for nearly 20 years starting in 1994, when she left her previous job to work directly with him. She says she was promised 50 percent of producer fees paid to a company called Red Strokes as well as a $250,000 bonus for "loyalty and years of service." She states that she "never received a dime of her fifty percent share of the producer fee" and stopped receiving proper compensation from Red Strokes in May 2011.

She claims Brooks had "manipulated" her and considers herself a victim of "one of Brooks' paranoid vendettas." She believes that Brooks "was his own worst enemy, killing deals with Disney, Fox and others by making ridiculous demands."

Among the amazing projects that Brooks allegedly turned down were Twister because "the tornado was the real star," Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, and Saving Private Ryan because "he wanted to be the star and was unwilling to share the limelight with Tom Hanks, Matt Damon and Edward Burns."

Lisa Sanderson is represented by attorneys Marty Singer and Allison Hart at Lavely & Singer.

Garth Brooks's  first album was released in 1989 and he quickly became country music royalty. The album peaked at number 2 in the US country album chart and reached number 13 on the Billboard 200 pop album chart.

In his highly successful live shows, Brooks used a wireless headset microphone to free himself to run about the stage, adding energy and arena rock theatrics to spice up the normally staid country music approach to concerts.

Though Brooks' camp has already issued a denial to all the claims made in the lawsuit, they will undoubtedly sully his reputation.
