Meat Loaf Says Illness Of His Band Mates Was Reason Behind Cancelling UK Show 30 Minutes Before Doors Were Scheduled To Open

Meat Loaf blames his band members' illness as the reason for cancelling Sunday's show in Nottingham, England, 30 minutes before the doors were scheduled to open.

Meat Loaf took to Facebook as the concert was scheduled to start, to explain that his band mates' illness was to blame for the last minute cancellation.

"We are very sorry to announce that tonight's performance has had to be postponed due to medical reasons afflicting several members of the band," the "Bat Out of Hell" singer wrote.

The show, which is part of Meat Loaf's Last At Bat farewell tour, is rescheduled for May 20, according to MSN Music.

Meat Loaf himself has had his share of health issues in recent years, stemming not from illness, but the residual effect of the 65-year-old's numerous concussions over the years.

"I've had 18 concussions and for the last three or four years they've been flaring up," Meat Loaf said. "After 18 concussions I knew something had to come around, sometime. My equilibrium is off. The last few years I kind of get on stage, I will wobble a bit and stumble."

Meat Loaf was moved to tears at Wednesday's show at the O2 Arena in London, thanking fans for their support over the years.

"What an incredible night!" he wrote on Facebook. "London, you were beyond amazing. Thank you to each and every one of you that came and shared this evening with us!"
