A College In Wisconsin Possibly Dodges Bullet Of An Alleged Gunman On The Campus Of Carroll University

Two students reported seeing a man walking with a gun near Carroll University in Wisconsin.

The school was immediately on lockdown and nobody was to leave the campus as the situation was to be investigated.

Located in Waukesha, the small college is 30 miles from Milwaukee.

Carroll University sent a text alert to students after the public safety office received a report of a man with a gun, according to the Associated Press. University public relations director Claire Beglinger told WITI-TV that two students called public safety officers to report a man with a "long gun" near the tennis courts on the northwest corner of the campus in Waukesha. They described him as white and about 50 to 60 years old.

Carroll University is a private liberal arts college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church USA located in Waukesha, Wis. The campus has about 3,500 students.

Student Affairs administrative assistant Yolanda Medina said no one is allowed to leave the campus buildings while the report is investigated. Classes were canceled.

The alleged gunman's identification has yet to be released. No reported gunshots have been heard or whether or not the man is even on the campus.

Carroll University was established in 1846.
