Billy Joel, Christie Brinkley's Daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, Was Target of Facebook Stalker...Body Guard Hired And Stalker Found

Alexa Ray Joel, daughter of hit singer/songwriter Billy Joel, was recently the target of a cyberstalker who sent her a barrage of disturbing Facebook messages, some of which, court records claim, include discussion of "pedophilia, sadistic-sexual behavior, violent physical assaults, and murder."

 27-year-old daughter of Christie Brinkley and Billy Joel, was reportedly too scared to leave her Manhattan home after the alarming threats. 

That's when her father, The native New Yorker and ex-boxer, was not surprisingly angered and took action. Taking advice from his good friend Paul McCartney, The Piano Man hired a bodyguard to protect his daughter.  McCartney recommended a Europe-based private-security firm which is "not bound by the same legal restrictions as the police" so they can take matters into their own hands at any time.

The investigators found Alexa's stalker, Sheryl Finley, and when they did, she happened to be naked in the woods of Minnesota. After being taken into custody, court records show that the woman claimed her threats were not meant to be carried out "during this life" and expressed a hope that Alexa would eventually meet with her.

Finley was accused of sending Alexa Ray more than 60 Facebook messages under a fake name.

Finley, who was committed to a mental institution in 2010, plead not guilty to the charges, but faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Prosecutors said that Finley hoped Alexa Ray wouldn't "object to meeting with her."

Former FBI agent Brad Garrett explained to ABC News that celebrity stalkers are often propelled by delusion.

"Delusion that they either have a relationship with the famous person or they desire one ... You have to separate the vile, violent words to the ability of the person or even the motivation of the person to actually carry them out."

The offspring of two superstars, Alexa Ray, attended New York University and is currently working on her solo music career. 

Although Alexa Ray isn't as well-known as her celebrity parents, she is a singer/songwriter like her father. She made a name for herself releasing an independent album titled Sketches in 2006. She is also the spokesmodel for Prell shampoo.

She obviously has her own fans...if not crazy ones.
