Kat Von D Planning an "Underwater Themed" Wedding To Joel Zimmerman AKA Deadmau5; Zimmerman Designing Dress

Kat Von Drachenberg, most commonly called Kat Von D, has planned an underwater ceremony for her wedding to electronic music star Joel Zimmerman, also known as Deadmau5.

The "Miami Ink" tattoo artist plans to wed her beau in front of a crowd of 200 friends and family in Los Angeles. Inspired by their favorite short story, "The Call of Cthulhu" by H.P. Lovecraft, Kat assured everyone that the wedding will be "the furthest thing from traditional."

The unconventional couple are going all out, from performers dressed to look like mermaids to the food being blue and green. As for her dress, Kat Von D says that will fit the part as well.

The couple, that never do anything by the book, got engaged over Twitter in December .

Deadmau5 Tweeted: "I can't wait for Christmas so ... Katherine Von Drachenberg, will you marry me?" along with the pic of a diamond ring.  The picture depicted a crystal diamond, although Zimmerman promised that it would be changed to black...more her style.

The wedding has been scheduled for August 10th and it appears that Von D has been a busy wedding planner. The entire ceremony will have an "underwater theme" with all the decorations, food, and even the performers dressed to look the part. As for her dress, Zimmerman is working with Falguni and Shane, with some design assistance by Deadmau5.

Traditionally, the groom doesn't see the dress before the wedding, but they're not a traditional couple and superstitions don't matter to Kat.

"It will have a sleek silhouette and include hints of iridescent teals, blues and deep violet ombré gradients," Von D said.

The couple began dating in September 2012, when she publicly gave him a star tattoo below his eye to match her own. The lovebirds had a surprising split in November 2012, only to get back together a few months later.  The reality couple seems to be back on track and more in love than ever, ready to tie the knot.

Von recently opened up about her relationship saying being with him felt like the most "natural" thing in the world.

"Being with Joel is the only thing that feels more natural than tattooing. Our wedding is merely a celebration of that love and commitment we live in already."
