Boston Marathon Explosions Send The K-Pop Community In Shock, Outpouring Of Well Wishes

Just a few days after his successful concert in Seoul, former Boston short-term resident, Psy, must be thinking of the place he called a temporary home.  When he was not yet the global star that he is, Psy spent some time in the city at the Berklee College of Music, nestled in the city.  On Monday, as the annual Boston Marathon came to a close, an act of terror occurred, causing many to be injured and resulting in a few deaths.

In Kpop, as anywhere, everyone knows running a marathon and working towards a goal isn't an easy thing.  It involves hours of training and that finish line is something phenomenal with cheers and wishes from their loved ones.  Sounds like a K-pop star's life, right?  This is the reason why as the news of the Boston Marathon explosions broke out, many K-pop artists went to Twitter to send their positive thoughts to the victims.

Most of the earliest response came from former US residents in K-pop like Aziatix, Brian Joo, 2PM's Ok Taecyeon and Nickhun, f(x)'s Amber Liu and Tablo.  Others in Korea also sent their well wishes.   Minutes after the news broke out, K-pop fans in the US also spent a moment on social media absorbing the reality of the news and sending their thoughts.

Outside of K-pop, Boston residents are also coming together to weather this catastrophe together.  With marathon participants typically not being from the city, many Bostonians are opening up their homes for people to stay.  Google also launched a program to help find loved ones who are missing or to notify loved ones all is well.

As Psy is to return to the US to do his promotion rounds, will he be visiting his short-term hometown in person?  Nonetheless, KpopStarz is one with the community in sending positive thoughts to those affected by this incident.
