Nicki Minaj 'American Idol' Outfit Causes Controversy, Some Say The Rapper’s Rags Are Too Sexy For TV
Nicki Minaj is causing a stir over the outfit the "Idol" star wore on April 17. Some critics are saying the "American Idol" outfit was way too sexy for a TV show with a young demographic.
Know for pushing the envelope with her wacky outfits, Nicki Minaj has been photographed wearing brightly colored wigs, skintight zebra print spandex, and an array of other outfits that would make a blind guy say "tone it down a notch."
Minaj has no intention of toning down her outfit choices. She believes her fans would be disappointed to see her in regular clothes.
There was nothing regular about the red outfit the rap star wore on April 17's "Idol." The sexy red dress has earned Minaj some backlash on Facebook for her "Idol" outfit choice.
"She's inappropriate in any outfit. I stopped watching American idol after she became part of the crew. Stupid, obnoxious, rude, and inappropriate are just a few descriptive words for her. She has ruined an otherwise successful show," says Jack Pollard.
Brenda Treagan commented, "Sexy, no. Trashy, yes."
Nicki Minaj's "Idol" outfit is not the only trouble the "Starships" singer is causing on the show. Rumors are flying saying that Minaj has been publically stating that she is the only reason people still watch "American Idol."
According to various online media sources, "Nicki believes she's the one carrying the show. She's had enough of the fans' online hatred because she feels she's the only one who is at least trying to make the show more interesting."
The various reports also say that Minaj doesn't hold back when the cameras are off. The reports are saying Minaj "believes Mariah sends viewers to sleep with her dialed-back performances, and she says, Keith sits on the fence far too often and gives half-hearted compliments to practically every contestant. As for Randy - Nicki says he's the same old Randy."
Nicki Minaj may not be as popular with "Idol" fans as she thinks. There is a Facebook page dedicated to convincing Fox to fire Minaj as a judge on the show.
