U.S. TIME Magazine Introduces 5 Essential K-Pop Tracks including Big Bang-Super Junior

In the wake of Psy's second perfect storm taking over the world, TIME Magazine introduced several K-Pop artists in its recent publication.

In an online article titled, "Beyond PSY: 5 Essential K-Pop Tracks," Seo Taiji's "Nan Arayo", Wonder Girls' "Nobody", Super Junior T's "Rokkugo", Big Bang's "Bad Boy" and Girls' Generation's "The Boys" were given the spotlight in the world-renowned magazine.

Highlighting the very beginnings of K-Pop, TIME selected Seotaiji as what started it all--though unlike much of today's K-Pop, the unconventional music from the 90s group was a sign of what was to come.

Wonder Girls' "Nobody" was recognized for its entry into the Billboard Hot 100, the first modern K-Pop song to accomplish such a feat.

About Super Junior-T, TIME pointed out the popularization of spin-off groups from big bands that have led to many successful cases such as Super Junior-T, which focuses on the old Korean pop genre known as trot.

Big Bang was given mention for its top-selling K-Pop album of 2012 with Alive while Girls' Generation was introduced as the girl-group with highest album sales with "The Boys."

TIME revealed that although Psy is at his peak in Korea and the global industry, there are also other top artists that should be recognized as some of the leaders in K-Pop.

Psy has currently surpassed a 100 billion views on YouTube and is ranked number 1 on iTunes in over 42 countries. He has also been receiving many love calls from U.S. media as well. Psy plans to leave for the U.S. on April 20 to discuss and plan his upcoming promotions.

Psy recently released his song, "Gentleman" on April 12 and performed the song for the first time at his 'Happening' concert on April 13. He also released the music video and received an overwhelming response from all over the world.
